How to Create a Group

The Groups section helps you manage the groups you have created within your hub. Groups are essentially smaller hubs within your primary hub. They let members switch their focus between topics.

Here we give you guidance on how you can create a group on uHubs. The Connected Salesperson, founded by John F Kelly and Paul J Barbour, is a great case study to read surrounding how groups can be used for different sub-courses.

Managers can assign different Member Types to different groups, allowing them to segment interaction, enhance the relevancy of their content and strengthen their hub’s privacy.

Enter: Ugenie's Groups

  1. Log on as Administrator

  2. The default landing page is Dashboard

  3. Find the Navigation Menu on the left-hand side

  4. Click Groups

Click Create Group

Group Name Enter a name for your new group. Keep it consistent with your branding! Group Description Enter a description for your new group. Make it engaging!

Group Type Choose to make your group Open, Closed or Secret. Open Groups Any member can join without approval. The group name is openly viewable for all on the community hub. Closed Groups A member can either be invited by an Administrator or request to join. The group name is openly viewable for all on the community hub. Secret Groups A member can only be invited by an Administrator. The group name is not openly viewable for all on the community hub.

Click Create Group

Group Created’ will appear at the top of your screen as confirmation.

The new group has officially been created and is available for members to view.
